What is Wikipedia ? Wikipedia is a free multicultural encyclopaedia on the internet It was made so that people could find information about a subject quick and easily The purpose was that by creating an encyclopaedia on the internet people may be able to edit and add more information about a chosen subject making Wikipedia the largest encyclopaedia in the world and for free.

The creators The site was launched in 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger

How is it funded? Wikipedia is funded from donations from the public. These donations help pay the monitors, and all cost and fees it gets along the way. It is important that Wikipedia is constantly funded to keep it up and running, so they advertise for funding on their website.

What does the page look like ? This is the page which comes up when, you click donate.

How do you search information ? Enter what you wish to search in this bar here and, the related page will come up with a list of other pages which may be help full.

creating an account First you go onto the homepage of Wikipedia. Then on the top left hand you click create account. once you have clicked the link, follow the steps to make your own account

What can I do after I made my account ? once you made your account you can do many things like. The ability to start new pages, including your user page. The ability to edit semi-protected. The ability to rename pages. The ability to upload images. The ability to send and receive s to and from other users (optional). The ability to set personal preferences on your account. The ability to keep a watch list to track changes made to articles that interest you. The use of a username of your choice, provided that it is appropriate and not already used. The ability to easily review all your contributions via a "My contributions" link. The ability to customize the appearance and behaviour of the website for your viewing. The ability to use editing tools. Eligibility to vote in Arbitration Committee elections and Wikimedia Board elections. The ability to edit without your IP address being visible to other users.

Editing information First click this button at the top of the page. Then this page will come up were you, can edit and change information in the source.
