Cabeza de Vaca 1528 Survivor of Narvaez Expedition Left for dead Possibly lived with Karankawa Traded with Indians Enslaved by Coahuiltecans 2 nd harvest Escaped in 1534 Earned a reputation as a Shaman when he removed an arrowhead from an Indians chest, and stitched up the wound. Wrote a book called Relacion, describing land, people, and animals.
