inspire a world of good SEL Involves the processes through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to: – understand and manage emotions, –set and achieve positive goals, –feel and show empathy for others, –establish and maintain positive relationships, and –make responsible decisions. (National Research Council, 2009, 2012; Durlak, Weissberg, Dymnicki,Taylor, & Schellinger, 2011; Goleman, 2005; Greenberg et al., 2003) as cited by Center for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning, 2013, p.6.
