What is Forest School? " Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers the children and young people opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self esteem, through hands on learning experiences in a local woodland environment.” Quote taken from Institute for Outdoor Learning Forest School web page.Institute for Outdoor Learning Forest School web page

Developed in Scandinavian Countries in 1990’s and now being used widely in the UK Uses areas of woodland, meadow or school grounds as an outdoor classroom Emphasis on ‘learning through play’, and this has a huge impact on the child’s all round holistic development Allows children to explore, discover, learn and take suitable risks

Our Ethos Our ethos focuses on providing a safe, outdoor environment where children are freely allowed to explore, discover, learn and take suitable risks. This provides them with endless opportunities to improve their educational, physical and social skills by bringing learning to life, and to increase confidence, self-esteem and their holistic full potential. ‘Supporting the whole child ’

Our Forest School Area Forest Schools takes place in the conservation area on school grounds. The area provides a range of plants and trees to explore and a selection of suitable resources which can be used for craft activities, shelter building etc.
