Situation: Assume the role of employee of a recently opened cleaning service business. You have solid business experience and are experienced in the services provided by your new employer. The business provides a wide assortment of cleaning services targeted to a broad variety of businesses. The business offers cleaning services ranging from display window cleaning to daily interior cleaning and trash disposal. The business has been open for one month. Business has been good and cleaning contracts have exceeded the plan. The business owner has asked you to help prepare a newspaper advertisement for the business. The purpose of the advertisement is to announce the opening of the business and the services your business provides. A fellow employee who has little business experience asks you why the business is planning an advertisement when the business is doing well. Activity: You are to briefly explain to the employee the role of advertising and promotion ad the role they play in a business’s overall marketing strategy.
