PROMPT I- (two separate entries each!) “THE ADVENTURES OF LEWIS & CLARK & THE CORPS OF DISCOVERY.” “THE ADVENTURES OF LEWIS & CLARK & THE CORPS OF DISCOVERY.” Chose a character and write from their P.O.V. Using a journal format (entries note the day, month, and year and are written in the first person format), describe what happened to you and the other members of the expedition. Try to be as accurate as possible about names, places, events, animals you encounter, Native American tribes you meet, and how you travel at different stages of the journey. Don’t forget to include battles, troubles on the rivers, dangerous animals, the weather, food shortages, insects, and all the hardships of the journey. Lewis had a few years at local schools, and Clark may have been taught the basics of reading and writing by his older brothers. Neither man had been to college. Spelling and grammar had not been standardized yet, so people often spelled words different ways. The word mosquitoes is spelled 15 different ways in journals of the expedition.
