Finding Credible Sources Most websites are slanted. Right or Left Some information may be wrong Look for the URL’s with.gov and.edu Always use multiple perspectives

Primary Source Someone who exists during the time Personally experienced the time period. Writing and reflecting upon what happened Journals, Periodicals, Newspaper Articles, Books, Essays, and Letters

Secondary Source Someone reflecting upon past events Did not live through the time period but writing about it Focus on the Historiography: making the connections to the past and writing. Understand they have predetermined notions and did not understand living during that time.

Why Must We Cite? Why? Avoid Plagiarism Give credit to those who deserve it Makes you look like you know what your writing about.
