Windows 10 - Released on July There is no Windows 9. - Microsoft has promised 10 years of support. - Currently on 100M+ devices. - Mostly positive reviews.
New Start Menu - Windows 8 Start Screen is gone. - Windows Apps are found on the Start Menu. - Menu and tiles can be resized. - Tile sections can be removed. - You can access all desktop apps.
Microsoft Edge - New default browser. (Internet Explorer is still present.) - No backwards compatibility. - Annotate and share web pages. - Install browser extensions. - ‘Reading View’, which removes ads and menus.
Cortana & Integrated Search - Integrated virtual assistant. - Responds to voice commands. (If you have a microphone.) - Search local drive, web, OneDrive. - Requires you to log into a Windows account. - Syncing across all Windows devices.
Task Switcher & Snap View - Snap windows to all four corners of the screen. - Task switcher in the task bar. (For easy app switching.)

Analyze Storage - View the layout of files and drives on your system. - See exactly what types of files are taking up space.
Windows Hello - Fingerprint scanning, facial recognition and more. - Provides better security without a password. - Most companies don’t support it yet, but they will.
Improved Usability - Like Office XP -> > 2013, things are better organized. - Old Control Panel is still there if you want to use it. - Simpler user interface, much like your phone. - Integrated Search makes it easy to find the buried menus. - Groupings are more intuitive.
Security & Privacy - Edge passes browser history to Cortana to aid searches. - Uses location for weather, calendar for notifications, etc. - Microsoft collects data about you by default. - Privacy settings are opt-in/opt-out in your Microsoft account. -Nothing gets shared if you use a local account.
Wi-Fi Sense - More convenient way to share Wi-Fi passwords. - Password is sent encrypted, so contacts never see it. -Shares your Wi-Fi passwords with Outlook, Facebook and Skype contacts. - Activated by default but can easily be deactivated. - In theory, will encourage the use of stronger passwords.
Upgrade Pricing - Must register for the upgrade within first year of release. - Will have Pro and Home versions and an upgrade from Pro to Home. - Free upgrade for people using Windows 7 or newer. - Regular price is $199 for Pro, $119 for Home and $99 to upgrade Home to Pro.
Upgrade Considerations - Corporate PCs should all have Pro installed. - Will have Pro and Home versions and an upgrade from Pro to Home. - Hardware that can run Windows 7 efficiently should be fine with Windows Install in a VM and test critical applications.

Co-Authoring - Collaborate with others in real time. - See who’s typing and where. - Only works for documents in OneDrive & SharePoint. - Works in Word, PowerPoint and OneNote.
Modern Attachments - Attach recently accessed Office docs in Outlook. - Set permissions for cloud files.
Clutter - For s that aren’t Junk but also aren’t important. - Builds a profile automatically based on behavior. - Not enabled by default.
Tell Me - New tool for finding features in Office apps. - Type keywords to produce a list of possible matches. - Stores the last five commands launched by Tell Me.
New Chart Types - New chart types available in Excel. - Waterfall, Pareto, Treemap, Histogram, Box & Whisker and Sunburst.
Office for Mobile - Office apps available for Android, iOS and Windows. - Personal apps available for free on devices with screens smaller than 10”. - Business apps included as part of Office 365 subscriptions. - Cloud documents will follow you across devices.
Upgrading to Office We can no longer order Office Office 365 subscribers have 1 year to upgrade. -Existing Office 365 subscribers will get access eventually. - New Office 365 subscribers will get Office 2016 apps. -You can get a boxed copy of Office 2016.
