Theme Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Outline Why is it important to win the battle for our mind? How can we win the battle for our mind?

Triple Threat Your flesh The devil/demons The world/culture

Why? What we think about most controls our lives. Above all, be careful what you think because your thoughts control your life. Proverbs 4:23 (ERV)

Why? Our mind is the battleground for sin. Pride Envy Lust Hate Unforgiveness

…but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. James 1:14 Whoever has your mind has you! Why?

How? We must feed our minds with truth. Sanctify them by your word, your word is truth. John 17:17

How? “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4

We must feed regularly. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation. 1 Peter 2:2 How?

We must FIGHT!!! For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds (lies)… How?

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

How? Capture thoughts (take captive) Make our mind… mind

What’s at Stake? Our families Educational pursuits Careers Hopes/dreams Our opportunity to turn the world upside down for Jesus

If We Win We will experience life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6 We will become like Jesus!!!
