Lesson 33

 Reduces feelings of depression and anxiety by improving brain circulation. Norepinephrine is a chemical that improves messages sent via nerves. Furthermore beta- endorphrins are chemicals produced in the brain that create a feeling of well being.  Promotes Psychological well-being (way of viewing self)

 Reduces the risk of developing type II diabetes by utilizing the extra glucose that the body doesn’t use  Builds and Maintains health bones, muscles, joints  Reduces the risk of premature death  Reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by creating a stronger heart and prevents cholesterol build up

 Reduces the risk of high blood pressure  Reduces the risk of developing colon cancer by helping movement of waste throughout colon

 64 % of people are overweight  44 million people obese determined by Body Mass Index (BMI)  17 million people have diabetes  950,000 die of cardiovascular disease each year

 Utilize the FITT Formula Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type  Include a warm-up 5 to 10 minutes, aerobic exercise 3 to 5 times a week, do resistance exercises 2 to 4 times a week  Creating a Target Heart Rate for safe exercise. Rough estimate: 220- your age, however doctor can better determine safe heart rate
