Scripture Reading Psalms 133:1

Introduction How does a congregation develop unity among its members? Every local church of Christ is made up of different personalities, backgrounds, levels of education, etc. While we all are different, we all have one thing in common. We're all brethren!

Principles For Unity Not just "principles" but actually rules that govern unity. Seek God first (Mt.6:33). Believe & speak the same thing (1 Cor.1:10). In doctrine unity, in opinions liberty. Love one another (Jn.13:34-35). Put others before yourself (Phil.2:3).

Conclusion Too many local churches are fractured and splintered today. Most because of envy and strife. Not about doctrinal issues, but pettiness. God finds those that cause division among His people to be an abomination (Proverbs 6:16-19).
