Presentation transcript:

Literary Terms: The 5 MainElements Visual Representation

Design features: Must convey the meaning of the literary term Must serve as a visual mnemonic device to help you remember the term and its definition

Non-Negotiables: Your visual representation (graphic) MUST include: The actual term incorporated into the visual The appropriate question the term answers, also incorporated into your visual (Who, What, When, Where, Why, How)

Elements: Color Size Shape Fonts Directionality Characters Clip art

Consider adding: Humor Puns Memorable pictures/art

Size Must fit on 8 ½ x 11” paper (standard typing sheet) Colored backgrounds encouraged

Goal: 100% Mastery Our goal is to create a “cheat sheet” for our own use-a graphic that includes the 5 Main Elements of a literary work, to use as a study aid so that we ALL can achieve mastery of these 5 literary terms! Once we all have submitted our ideas, we will vote on the best representation-the one that is the most helpful in learning the term. We will compile one integrated graphic organizer-our very own study guide-and we will each use it to study for mastery!

Examples: (from the poetry unit) Remember to be ORIGINAL
