Grading Policy Assessments – 50% Quizzes – 25% Homework – 15% Classwork – 10%

LATE WORK *The earned percentage grade will be reduced by 10% for each day the work is late for three days. (Example: If a student earns an 80% on the assignment and it is one day late, the final grade will equal a 70%, with two days late, 60%, and three days late, 50%.) *After three school days, late work will no longer be accepted. *For AP classes, late work will not be accepted. *Absentee late work will follow district guidelines.

AP, Honors, and CP Each English class is designed to advance student writing skills, knowledge of literary terms, and ability to read prose and poetry critically. Annotation of text – encourages exploration and legitimate reading of texts, self-evaluation Literary Analysis – uses the elements of literature to argue thesis statements based on a more in-depth interpretation of text Vocabulary of the Week (CP) Article of the Week In-class discussion – clearly articulate ideas- synthesize with the ideas of others to amend conclusions
