What do the colors represent?

What was this area called during the ancient Roman era?

Conflict in Palestine  Ruled by Britain after WWI.  Jews, facing anti-Semitism in Europe, were promised a homeland. Biblical connections to Jerusalem. Biblical connections to Jerusalem.  Arabs, the vast majority, were promised independence for their help in WWI.

Militarism in Japan IIIIndustrial growth led to imperialism. Needed raw materials from abroad. DDDDuring the Great Depression, many supported strong military leaders. Army invaded Manchuria (Northeast China) without gov. approval.
