Hi Viz

Oregon ARES Leadership Conference Sisters, Oregon August 22 – 24 Got anything you want me to take to the conference?

Hood To Coast August 8/28 – 8/29

“Our operating assumption is that everything west of Interstate 5 will be toast.”

How do you prepare? Depends Where do you live? Do you stock up? Or do you put what you can in a go kit? Where are you going to keep important papers? Where are you going?

OSSPAC estimates that in the I-5 corridor it will take between one and three months after the earthquake to restore electricity

six months to a year to restore major highways

eighteen months to restore health- care facilities

On the coast, those numbers go up.

Whoever chooses or has no choice but to stay there will spend three to six months without electricity.

Simulated Emergency Test Quake Ex 2 SET

In the beginning was the plan. All meet in one place Take pictures of your go kit The EC will assign new duties to all This will be a COOP drill, basically all in the field

Quake Ex 2 Oct 10 th 7AM – 5PM WashCo EOC in parking lot Field Group Tim K7TRP is lead West Hills Repeater Bald Peak NCS Scoggins Dam Vernonia Goals? What do we want to accomplish?

Quake Ex 2 TVF&R will work out of their sites because they have issues. Any one else need to work at their sites? Take pictures of your radio go kits The plan was to have a “Operational Period”, so none were to be out for 8 hours. The plan is just that, a plan. Some may opt to move to another site in the middle of the SET. This time county EOC will have plenty of radios and stations to work at, we won’t drop the ball this time.

Quake Ex 2 If your bored and nothing is happening at your station, say something. We need find what makes us prepared. I do want happy Hams

What are we preparing for? Not just an earthquake. Wind Flood Storm Fire Bottom line where communications is needed until comms is restored
