Diet The puffin has a special polar diet . It might surprise you to know that a puffin is a carnivore. The puffin eats small fish, eel, herring and sprat. Their predators are sea gulls, skunks and foxes. This polar bird has a unique diet for the place it lives.

Appearance A puffin’s appearance is very unique. A puffin’s beak is about one inch long. They are covered with black and white water proof feathers. They have webbed feet so they can walk acrossed the ice safely and swim faster. They have spines on the roof of their mothers. Puffins can carry ten fish in there beaks. It’s a under water flyer that means it can fly under water. They beat their wings to swim and use there feet to steer in the water . I wonder if I will see a puffins unique appearance.

Habitat Polar animals habitat’s are usually found in the coldest parts of the world. A puffin lives in the Arctic and in the Antarctica. They make nest in colonies on rocky Arctic coasts in the summer. Their nests are on islands. Their nest are called burrows. A puffins habitat is cool!

A puffin lays one single white egg at a time. A piffling takes six weeks to hatch. A puffins life cycle is amazing I might add more!

Fun Facts It can fly to 55 miles an hoer. Rub their beaks to together to make a puffin kiss. It rest on by floating on the waves. Can fly as fast as a car on a highway. A egg takes 42 days to hatch.
