Heart of A Buddha Part 5/5

Everything that happens to us We alone we ourselves have thought, said or done are responsible for our lives. is the result of what in previous lifetimes.

This body is not “I.” When finished with it, like putting on a new set of clothing. This body is just our clothing. we will discard it and choose another,

Whatever joy there is in this world, Whatever suffering there is in this world, all arises from desiring others to be happy. all arises from desiring myself to be happy.

Good fortune Misfortune comes from selflessness. comes from selfishness.

Ignorance lead to ego, Resentment to anger, Ego to selfishness, Selfishness to resentment, Anger to hatred, Hatred to annihilation.

If the causes we create arise from wisdom, If the causes we create arise from ignorance, so then will the results. so then will the results.

for people will hear them and Whatever words we utter for good or ill. should be chosen with care be influenced by them

When eating, When walking, When smiling, be mindful of eating. of walking. of smiling.

it flows from the mind and heart, Lovingkindness can never exist unless from understanding and love.

To be proud of what we have received will rob us of or to envy others for what they have, peace of mind.

Serenity and generosity are qualities of the heart.

Insight and concentration are qualities of the mind. Compassion and wisdom are qualities of the true nature.

May all sentient beings be filled with lovingkindness and happiness. Namo Amitabha! May they wish to become healing herbs in the days of epidemics to cure the ill. May they wish to become rice plants in the days of famine.
