PIN Notebook Please make sure all items on checklist are in the PIN notebook each month. All postings and handouts given to parent must go in PIN notebook- Make sure the handouts given by Education, Health. Fatherhood Information-etc-- all go into PIN notebook each month. Policy Council – Place page in PIN Notebook regarding Where you can find information.

Parent Meeting Send a flyer out one (1) week prior to parent meeting, send out another flyer three (3) days before the parent committee meeting and sent one out the day of meeting. Place the date sent out on the corner of page and 1 st notice, 2 nd notice, 3 rd notice on flyer. The following information will be provided on the Parent Meeting notice: Date, Time, Location, If refreshments, or food is being served, Child care availability and Information about the agenda and training being provided

Parent Meeting Make sure Chairperson is running the meeting. Assist as needed. A quorum shall be established by the members present. Parent Committee meetings are for parents/guardians of children enrolled. Therefore, in accordance with Robert’s Rule of Order, the members present establish a quorum. What is a quorum?--- What if Chairperson is only person at meeting?

Parent Meeting Agenda Do not change agenda topics- go over all topics on agenda. Can add topics to agenda. Help chairperson complete agenda and have chairperson and FSW initial agenda once completed. Make sure site name and date are put on agenda. Add speakers name and organization along with person responsible for each item.

Meeting Minutes Please make sure and use new meeting minutes form on Internet. Make sure minutes can be read and that two (2) sets of minutes are completed. One by secretary and one by staff.

Parent Trainings Parent Committee Meetings are to provide information and training opportunities to the families of the Head Start/Early Head Start, other parents and other interested persons in the following areas: Child Development and child outcomes Parenting skills Prevention and reporting child abuse and neglect Family literacy Medical, Dental, Nutrition, and Mental Health Services Community advocacy Transition activities If one of your speakers has cancelled or you have not completed a training this year on one of the following items- please reschedule speaker and have more than one speaker at that meeting.
