EGYPT SOUTH AFRICA

SUDAN NIGERIA

Some students are able to learn the names and locations of other countries of Africa. These students may use the same maps with the use of other colors with the same method as used With the original countries.

NIGER EGYPT SUDAN ANGOLA

MADAGASCAR TANZANIA SIERRA LEONE

Among the other uses of these maps are the printing of the powerpoint presentations so that the student may match the written name Of the countries with the locations of these countries.

Since the same colors are used for the countries in each map, students may learn to use crayons or colored pencils of the same colors and locate and color the location of the countries on the identical maps that were used for teaching.

Another way to use the maps of Africa is to incorporate these maps with coordinate grids. Three possible uses of these grids are: 1. Students may plot the coordinates onto the map of Africa. 2. Students may then identify the name of the country where the plotted point is located. 3. Students may be asked to state the coordinates of plotted points.

MCC.7.RP.2 Recognize and represent proportional relationships between quantities. a. Decide whether two quantities are in a proportional relationship, e.g., by testing for equivalent ratios in a table or graphing on a coordinate plane and observing whether the graph is a straight line through the options. These next activities are prerequisite skills for MCC 7. RP.2. These activities review plotting points on coordinate planes which is a needed skill for the completion of this standard.
