THOSE FACTORS CAN BE SUMMED-UP BY THE WORD

DILIGENCE IS THE ADJECTIVE USED TO DESCRIBE LEADERS

8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully (Romans 12:8)

Proverbs 13:4 says, “The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.”

The Greek word for diligence is the word “σπouδη” (spoudé). What does this word mean? It means: 1. Quick movement in the interests of a person or a cause 2. To hasten oneself 3. Speed in carrying out a matter 4. Give yourself trouble 5. Active, industrious, zeal, effort, pains 6. It stands in contrast to laziness

2 Peter 3:12-14, “So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort (spoude) to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.”

2 Tim. 2:15: “ Do your best (spoude) to present yourself to Godas one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2 Tim. 2:15: “ Do your best (spoude) to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

Hebrews 4: 10,11: “Let us, therefore, make every effort (spoude) to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.”

The founder of Honda Motors, Soichiro Honda, said: Many people dream of success. To me success can only be achieved through repeated failure and introspection. In fact, success represents the 1 percent of your work which results only from the 99 percent that is called failure. Many people dream of success. Proverbs 14:23: “All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”

Ecclesiastes 11:4-6 : 4 Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap. 5 As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. 6 Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well

NIKE SLOGAN:

Their manual declares: “Often, while others are sleeping, the leader continues working, trying to find solutions for the problems of the group.” ICM has grown from 70 cells in 1991 to 20,000 cells today.

John Maxwell says, “Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it ought to be done, whether you like it or not; it is the first lesson that ought to be learned.”

We’re all filled with worthy intentions, but preciously few actually live their intentions. Are you willing to translate intention into reality? Effective leaders translate intention into reality
