There are ten units in this book, and every unit is divided into nine parts. They are Lead-in 、 Listening and Speaking 、 Reading and Writing 、 Language in Use 、 Unit Task 、 Pronunciation Practice 、 Self-check 、 Life and Culture.

Part One Analysis of students (学情分析) Our students are the first year students in vocational school. They are learning nursing at school now and most of them will be nurse in As we know learning English well is important to them. In fact, they have mastered some knowledge of English,but their basis is so poor. And they are almost from the countryside and belong to the"left-behind" children. they are lower of English level and don’t have strong in- terest in English learning. At the same time they are lack of confidence in learning,and they will retreat when they once face the difficulty.

Part Two Teaching contents (教学内容) Ⅰ. Status and Function(地位和功能) Ⅱ. Teaching aims and Demands(教学目标和要求) Ⅲ.Teaching key and Difficult points(教学重难点)

Ⅰ. Status and Function (地位和功能) This is an important lesson in this book.Such a topic is related to greeting, so it is helpful to raise learning interest of students and it will be also help to improve their oral English. It can help students to attain “four skills” request of listening, speaking, reading and writing.Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material.

Ⅱ.Teaching aims and Demands (教学目标和要求) 1. Knowledge objects(知识目标): (1) The Ss can understand the content of the lesson. (2) The Ss can hear, read, and use the simple oral sentences to communicate with people 、 introduce themselves and their hometowns. 2. Ability objects(能力目标): (1)To develop the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing , especially to train the students how to use some oral English sentences to greet their new classmates and find useful information from the materials. (2) To train the Ss’ ability of working in pairs and groups. 3. Emotion or moral objects(情感目标): By completing the task, the Ss are more interested in learning English , open up their eyes to outside world.

Ⅲ. Teaching key and Difficult points (教学重难点) (1) Master the differences of "last name" and "first name "between China and UK&US. (2) Master the useful oral English sentences. (3) Know which elements does the name card include and design the name card.

Let them introduce themselves in English as far as possible. Step1:Leading in(导入) Purpose: To attract the students’ attention and lead to the topic “Nice to meet you”.

Step2: Presentation Present the words and conversation,especially the sentences about greeting. Purpose: to learn the words and sentences about greeting

Step3: Practice(练习) Use the words and expressions that learned in the words and expressions of unit 1,imitate and complete three tasks. Task1: Introduce self Task2: Make a dialogue about Greeting Task3: Make a name card Purpose: master the language goal so that the students are able to communicate and improve their listening and speaking skills.
