Homework Directory Go to the Mayfield District site. Move mouse to the home drop down menu choose high school and click. Click on Teacher Websites (left side of high school page) Scroll down and locate me in the directory and click on Biology link.

Grading Formative: Homework, practice quizzes, learning checks. To monitor student progress. Marked formative in Pinnacle. Weighted zero, thus not calculated into final quarter grade. Summative: To measure student learning at the end of a particular unit. Marked Academic in Pinnacle.

Biology PLC Standards for Assessment and Reporting Summative assessments - 70% Unit Tests and Quizzes to assess mastery of their Learning Goals Labs, projects and essays - 25% In class assignments, writing, lab analysis and reports, projects like DNA models. Also assessing mastery of their Learning Goals. Homework (practice and effort) - 5%

Tips for Success in Biology and really any other subject! Did I review assigned sections of the text after the lecture/class? Did I complete chapter review material? Did I define vocabulary terms? Did I come in to ask questions? Did I recopy, or at least go over, my notes? Did I organize my handouts?

Did I complete all assignments and labs? Did I review for tests enough in advance so I could ask for help???????? Did I check over answers, returned assignments, and tests to see what I did right as well as wrong? Did I come to class prepared to focus on the subject matter each and every day? Did I generate my own method of studying for this particular course? Finally, did I pay attention?????

Times when students can come for extra help in Biology: Before Homeroom, just let me know ahead of time. 3:00 – 4:00 pm or later. Study halls or lunch periods during the school day by appointment. 1 st and 6 th periods
