Using Anagram Artist A simple tutorial on the basic operations using screenshots. PowerPoint Presentation by Larry Brash (Copyright 2006)

Overview. Below are some of the basic important functions. An example will be given on the pages that follow. Type the subject text in this box Type an anagram in this box This box will display available words. If you click the area immediately to the left, anagrams will appear in this box. Click again to toggle between anagrams and available words. Various functions to narrow down the number of available words

Enter text to be anagrammed. Here I have added my full name in the top left box. Note the available words in the right hand box.

Narrow down the number of suggested words. Do this by selecting the lowest level of commonness (1). There are still a lot of words from which to choose.

Find words with uncommon letters. Here I have selected words containing “v”, by typing “v” into the “Use (U) box”. I have noticed the word “devil” as a good candidate word.

Type in a keyword into the bottom left box. Here I have typed in “devil”. I have then pressed “Clear” to displayed more suggested words.

Type in another keyword into the bottom left box. Here I have typed “and”. However, now I have very few suggested words in the right hand box.

Change the level of commonness to find more suggested words. I have selected the highest level of commonness (All). I have noticed the word “abuser”.

Type in another keyword in the bottom left box. Here I have typed in “abuser”. Notice that “ARCH” and “CHAR” are capitalised, indicating that these are single word anagrams of the remaining letters.

Now click the central area where the letter histogram is. You can now see any anagrams of the remaining letters.

Now type in one the anagrams into the left bottom box. I have typed in “Arch-” and you see “MATCH” in the central area. You can now save the anagram, using File > Save As.
