TEKS 5.6B Demonstrate that the flow of electricity in circuits requires a complete path through which an electric current can pass and can produce light, heat, and sound

Electric current flows through a path called a circuit. An open circuit has a break in its path and does not allow electricity to flow through. A closed circuit does not have a break and allows electricity to flow through.

When the switch is on, the circuit is closed, allowing electricity to flow. When the switch is off, the circuit is open, stopping the flow of electricity.

Which of these diagrams shows a complete circuit?

The correct answer is D The wires connect the positive end of the battery to the light bulbs and the light bulbs to the negative end of the battery so the circuit is complete.
