 URI 2015 Graduate  Rhode Island born and breed  Favorite quote: “We have our heading” – Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl  Love… cats, purple, chocolate, Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Johnny Depp  Favorite joke: Two muffins were baking in the oven when one muffin says to the other “It’s getting hot in here.” The other muffing responds, “WHOA a talking muffin!”  I’m an avid reader. Know a good book? Tell me about it,  I’m also an artsy individual. Creativity is highly welcomed in my classroom. WHO I AM…

 I love history and helping people.  I’ve had good and bad teachers, and both leave an impact.  I want to make a positive difference in the life of our youth.  Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders.  Knowledge opens doors of opportunity, I want to be the key that unlocks the knowledge opening more doors for our youth. WHY I WANT TO BE A TEACHER…

 Managerial Approach: set clear ground rules, and procedures so students always know what is expected of them and what to expect of me as the teacher  Authoritative Approach: consistently enforcing the rules and procedures already established  Humanistic Approach: students will be responsible for their own work and behavior, they have a lot going on outside of class and when its effecting school, accommodations will be made, students are diverse individuals with diverse needs  Behavioral Approach: rewards and consequences will be used to enforce good behavior and academic work  Folkloric Approach: I will learn from other teachers and ask for help if the need arises MY PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING…

1.All members of the classroom, students and teachers, will always respect one another. 2.Raise your hand and wait to be called on by the teacher when you wish to speak or leave the classroom. 3.Cell phones and other electronic devises only allowed with specific teacher permission. 4.Keep your hands, feet, and belongings to yourself, this includes keeping your eyes on your own paper. 5.Arrive to class on time and prepared to learn. CLASSROOM RULES

 I will keep details not only on student’s academic performance but also on student’s behavior.  The data collected will help me make an educated decision as to the best coarse of action to help each and every student.  If one method of helping a student behave or perform better academically is not working then we will use the data collected and reassess.  I will to work with the student and parents to aid them in school.  A well managed classroom is a classroom full of learners. POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION SYSTEM
