Escape Velocity Video Escape from Reality! Alex Prewett, William Hellela, Rauf Gadar

Business Escape Velocity Video is a chain of several video stores in different localities, that sells both DVDs and VHS to the populace. It stocks a large number of different genres, release dates etc. Each store only has limited shelf space The company thinks that Data Warehouse concept sounds really shiny, considering what the business is lacking.

Business Needs We have a greater need for strategic information that will ensure the long term survival of Escape Velocity Video. Concerned with efficient stocking of products that will sell, not ones that wont. Escape Velocity is a growing company, so we would like to compare the effectiveness of and wisely promote our managers.

Solutions! Data Warehouse will assist us in making decisions and business strategies based on historical AND current information. With a Data Warehouse, we will be able to track the history of product sales. This will help us organize our products in efficient and timely ordering/ fast selling products/ discontinue order for deadweight. We will be able to use the Data Warehouse to compare and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of our various Store and District managers.
