2 National Standard 10 (NS10) NS10: “Conservation and management measures shall, to the extent practicable, promote the safety of human life at sea.” (MSA section 301(a)) NS10 was added to the Magnuson-Stevens Act in NOAA Fisheries Service published NS10 Guidelines in (50 CFR )

7 National Standard 10 – Next Steps Consider the comments as we draft proposed revisions to the NS10 guidelines. Plan to publish a proposed rule to revise the NS10 guidelines and will hold another public comment period.
