Direct vs. Indirect Democracy What is the difference between Direct and Indirect Democracy

Direct Democracy In a direct democracy the individuals or citizens actually vote on the issues or laws as in a referendum, meaning that all decisions are actually referred to the people. This form is used very little because of the slow process that is a result and the difference of opinion which can be debated. Popular Vote-Majority wins

Indirect Democracy This method of representation is much more common in government. It is when citizens elect representatives to vote on issues for them.
