Aransas National Wildlife Refuge Interpretation

LEARNING THE REFUGE Things to know Size of the refuge Animals people want to know about Good places to observe nature Places to find peace Closest gas and food Regulations The reason why not to feed wildlife Things to explain Why the refuge matters What has been done to the refuge for the visitors What has been done for the wildlife Regulations The reason why not to feed wildlife

GIVING KNOWLEDGE It is our duty to not only give the visitors the required information to safely journey in to the refuge but to help them experience it and wish to learn more about it and how it works. All the while trying to get the visitors to ask a question that can stump us and get us to learn more. Sometimes its just as important to leave the refuge and head to towns and schools to remind people how close nature is to them. Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books. -John Lubbock
