Three Careers Pediatric registered nurse Dentist Photographer

Pediatric Nurse Description A pediatric nurse is a nurse that specializes in helping children in hospitals and doctors’ offices. They do routine screenings, diagnose illnesses, perform crucial care on sick children and check-ups on healthy children. I am interested in this job because I like helping children and I think they’re really fun to be around. Pediatric nurses earn from $48,000-$68,000 a year (compensation depends on your level of work). Experienced pediatric nurses can earn $100,000 or more a year.

10 Characteristics for a Pediatric Nurse You need 4-6 years of school. Values for the job are patient-facing, multifaceted, and structured. Some tasks and responsibilities for this are working with kids from infants up to young adulthood, giving developmental screenings, immunizations, and treating common illnesses. They work closely with family doctors, pediatricians, and other pediatricians. A nurses hours can vary but on weekly they work about 8-12 hours five days a week which adds up to around 38-40 hours a week.

Experienced pediatric nurses can earn $100,000 or more a year. The work environment for them is kid-friendly and usually in a hospital or primary care doctor’s office. Their aptitudes and abilities are being able to get kids to understand what they are trying to tell them and to get the kids to express what they feel so the nurse can properly help them. Their career outlook is good. Their international career outlook is also good.

Lifestyle Goals / Location / Interest Area (for a pediatric nurse) I want to be able to have a lot of clothes/ shoes, and I want to be able to have a big house but still have some money after I have the house. This job will probably be okay for my life goals. To be a pediatric nurse I probably wouldn’t have to move anywhere because there are hospitals and doctors’ offices almost everywhere. This job would fall under the health science interest area.

Dentist Dentists find and treat problems with a person’s mouth, gums, or teeth. I am interested in this job because I like going to the dentist and I think I would like to work at one.

10 Characteristics for a Dentist Values for a dentist are autonomy, beneficence, compassion, competence, and integrity. Dentists are responsible for educating patients on oral healthcare; examining teeth and diagnosing patients’ dental conditions. They have to be able to work with other people in their office and patients. They usually work alone or with a small staff, some dentists have partners. The hours for a dentist are about 36 hours a week (33 hours are typically spent treating patients).

A dentist's aptitudes and abilities are willingness to learn and make sense of scientific knowledge, good manual dexterity, good eyesight and color vision, ability to off advice and educate others, happy to work as a part of a team, and excellent people skills. To be a dentist it is possible (but very rare) to only go to college for it for two or three years but most people go to school for four. The median salary for this job is $146,340 in 2013. The international career out look and career outlook are good because with people drinking coffee, pop, and people want to get their teeth whitened which also helps keep dentists in a job.

Photographer Description A photographer creates a permanent visual images for an exceptionally wide range of creative, technical and documentary purposes. I am interested in this job because I like to take pictures of everything and I think I would like to do it as my job.

They have to go to school and graduate high school with a diploma or equivalent, and have to go to college for their bachelors degree and associates degree if the person wants it. Their salary is about $37,190. The career and international career out look for them is not very good. As we keep using our phones for things, we have less of a need for professional photographers.

Lifestyle Goals / Location / Interest Area (for a photographer) I don’t think I would be able to have the life style I want with this job because it doesn’t pay very much. This is a local job and I wouldn’t have to move anywhere because photographers are all over the place. This job would fall under the interest area of Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications.
