Geography of the region The region borders on the Prešov Region in the north and the Banská Bystrica Region in the west It also shares two state borders – with Ukraine and Hungary The largest mountain is the Slovak Ore Mountains The largest river is the River of Bodrog
Population and towns In the region live 780,000 inhibitants The region consists of 11 districts and 440 municipalities, 17 of which have the status of a town The city of Košice is the region´s capital and the biggest city Other big towns are Michalovce, Spišská Nová Ves and Trebišov
City of Košice Is the biggest city of the region and the second biggest in the country More then 55% of region´s population lives in Košice It is the most important city of Eastern Slovakia There are 3 universities and International Aiport
Nature There are 2 national parks in the region - the Slovak Paradise and the Slovak Karst The Slovak Karst is very popular for hiking
