Presentation transcript:

By, Kristin R. Warren

Communication is the most important thing two people need in any relationship. Everything we do in our day to day life has to do with communicating.

Verbal The uses words to express to another how we are feeling or what we are thinking Non-Verbal The use of gestures and actions, facial expressions, our appearance, and if and how we touch someone to express as to how we are feeling or what we are thinking

Even when you tell a lie, whether you want them or not, your actions will more often than not mimic your true feelings.

MEN:WOMEN:  Communicate to share information, not to establish a relationship.  Want to know all the details of “who”, “when”, “where”, and “feelings”.  Get right to the point, and will tell facts not details.  Communicate to establish a relationship.

MEN:WOMEN:  Won’t talk about a problem unless it needs fixing.  Will nod their head when listening to show they are listening.  Don’t like to share personal information with others.  Will nod their head when listening when they agree.  Will talk about problems just to vent.  Like to share personal information in hopes of intimacy.

MEN:WOMEN:  Realize that everything a woman talks to you about does NOT need fixing. Sometimes women just need to vent.  Remember, just because her head is nodding when she listens to you does NOT mean she agrees with you. It just means she is listening to you.  Remember that men don’t like to talk in too much detail. Just give him the point and let him choose to ask you questions.  Keep in mind that just because he isn’t nodding his head while you’re talking does NOT mean he isn’t listening.

If you take the time out to talk to one another and listen to what the other one is saying you may have a better understanding of what each person wants and how they communicate with you.
