If it is not just half time entertainment, then what exactly do they do? Beginning in July, members of the BMB start to train for the upcoming marching season. Beginning in July, members of the BMB start to train for the upcoming marching season. In the last week of August, the entire band (approx. 300 members) joins together for BAND CAMP. This one time at band camp… Band camp is not all that it is portrayed in the movies. Band camp is not all that it is portrayed in the movies. It is a very long week of 12 hour days.
