Grading System: Quizzes – 10% Seatworks – 15 % Projects – 20% Monthly Exam – 15% Periodical Exam – 30%

Objectives: To develop writing skills To enhance one’s skills in reading and literary appreciation At the end of the course you will develop listening and speaking skills To master English grammar and to use the basic language structures in oral and written communication with high proficiency level

FIRST GRADING PERIOD Analyzing the story using the story grammar techniques Identifying the simple parts of a simple sentence Identifying different sentence patterns Identifying the patterns of coordination Listening to describe the speaker’s attitude Comparing subordinate adverbial and adjectival clause Identifying figures of speech Identifying patterns of subordination Forming the present tense and present perfect tense Identifying propaganda strategies used in advertisements
