Personal job search goals may include meeting a budget and supporting the P*A*T*H to Success. Libraries, newspapers, business directories, professional organizations, company web sites, and employment professionals can all be used in a job market search. A task timeline can help the job-seeker stay on track. Networking is one of the most effective job-search tools. Using technology should not be the only way to complete a job search, but it can help enhance the search if used properly. Monster.com, CareerBuilder, Indeed, and Twitter are a few online resources that may help. Job search pitfalls are detrimental to one’s success. Various ways to help you narrow the focus include volunteering, job shadowing, service-learning projects, and gaining invaluable experience through other means.
