CHANGES TO MINNESOTA FAMILY INVESTMENT PROGRAM (MFIP) An end to having a county-level cap on the proportion of adults meeting Work Participation Rate requirements who are participating in education and training activities. Employment counselors are advisors regarding education and its role in an employment plan. They no longer approve or deny education plans. It expands access to ABE, GED, ESL and postsecondary education for participants receiving cash assistance from the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) Allows all participants 12 weeks to pursue job search activities, rather than the previously allowable 6 weeks of job search.
FINANCIAL AID COMPLIANCE Differing understandings across MnSCU institutions of the term secondary education Financial aid will not be awarded for developmental courses unless they are substantially at the 9th-12th grade level of instruction. Developmental Courses were Institutionally Reviewed for Eligibility for Federal Financial Aid and MnSCU created lists A and B
