Promote, by agreement amongst the library networks, the maintenance of the National Bibliographic Database; Develop and promote national standards for the operation of libraries and the processing and delivery of information; NATIS (JAMLIN) Related Functions

National Bibliographic Database – Jamaica Union Catalogue (JUC) Meant to be a one stop shop for efficiently locating library resources ; Serves to save researchers valuable energy, time and money in fulfilling their information needs; Available via website Needs the cooperation of all to make it very effective; Libraries / Information Units in Jamaica are expected to submit their cataloguing records ;

Challenges in Developing the Jamaica Union Catalogue Cataloguing Records not being submitted for various reasons:-  Cataloguing not done according to standards  Catalogues not properly maintained  Reservations about releasing the cataloguing records
