Gather the Background Information Rigor-Relevance-Relationships Selected key team to attend an informational meeting (Model Schools Conference - summer 2005) Strategically attended meetings and workshops Shared information through daily debriefing meetings Scheduled a formal debriefing Team Meeting after returning home from conference Researched other schools and programs (Google, MSC ’06 and ’07, LA Redesign Summit, etc.) (this remains an ongoing process)

Develop the Interventions and Strategies Rigor-Relevance-Relationships Discussed problems and areas of concern seen in our freshman level students Created a list of all interventions, programs, and strategies from the Model Schools Conference Included prior knowledge, ideas, and experience Included other researched areas Divided into small groups to create each level of intervention and academy keystones

Rigor-Relevance-Relationships Negotiated the interventions and strategies for each level until a consensus was reached Agreed upon details of how to implement the interventions and strategies at each level Included optional interventions if necessary Decided which programs to put in place “NOW” and those for the “FUTURE” Refine the Interventions and Strategies
