Timeline Early Gaston College and Highland School of Technology will come to MHMS to present on their school. JanuaryJanuary Students will be visiting assigned High Schools. Early College and Highland Applications are due! February February Registration Sheets sent home with student for SPHS, SCHS and EGHS MarchMarch High School Counselors come to MHMS to register students LateMarchLateMarch Gaston Early College and Highland School of Technology will present to MHMS students

Gaston Early College ●This exclusive, non-traditional high school offers Gaston County students a unique opportunity to receive a high school diploma while earning an Associate of Arts degree from the community college. ●Students get application from School Counselors after Gaston Early College presents to Mount Holly Middle. School Counselors will turn into GEC. ●Applications are usually due the last day of February.

Highland School of Technology ●Designed around an Academy Pathway, it features rigorous academic and technical curricula for students in grades ●Information about the lottery process is available in late January each year. Mailings will be sent to eligible students and online applications may be printed and submitted. ●The application deadline is usually the last day of February. ●The lottery is held in March when students are in the eighth grade. A waiting list is established from the lottery. Students must be Gaston County residents to apply and attend Highland. ●Both Highland and Gaston Early College provide transportation.
