Gothic Stained Glass Windows: The history of stained glass begins in the 12 th Century. Stained glass replaced the wall frescos of earlier times. It illustrated the teachings of old and new testaments. In Europe, the art of stained glass reached its height between 1150 and 1500, when magnificent windows were created for great cathedrals. Between the late 1500’s and the 1800’s stained glass fell from favor. Castles, palaces, and churches were destroyed due to Political issues Religious reasons Social conditions

Rose Window History: Originated in the French gothic period These windows run on many levels Spiritual Meditative Emotional Several things displayed within them Biblical characters Historical Seasons Some times themes specific sometimes not as concrete. Most of these windows were sponsored by wealthy people of the time.

What your window design must have within it 1) You will need to use no less than five mathematical terms within the triangle 2) The shapes must overlap and fill the triangle shape. 3) The shapes you use have to placed in a balanced form. 4) All the mathematic shapes you use must look well drawn and even. In other words you need to use a ruler to create your shapes. Wobbly lines will not be accepted! 5) Label your shapes with the numbers provided on the sheet so I know which shapes you are using.
