What is a colony?

A colony is a set of communities that is ruled by another country.

A settlement is a form of community.

What are the New England Colonies?

New Hampshire Massachusetts Rhode Island Connecticut

What are the middle colonies?

New York New Jersey Pennsylvania Delaware

What are the southern colonies?

Virginia Maryland South Carolina North Carolina Georgia

How did the Native Americans influence the colonists and vice versa?

Indians taught colonists how to grow crops and make maple sugar as well as hunt for meat and skins to survive the winter. Indians also shared foods with the colonists and helped them by expanding trade.

The colonists gave the Indians diseases, and took away their land by pushing them out, but also made trades.
