The responses to climate change at a local and global scale

Attitudes against solving climate change

Solving global warming

Who can have an impact on climate change at a local scale? Schools: e.g. Live simply campaign to encourage the students to consider the choices they make e.g. notices to switch off lights and solar panels Local councils: UK’s target is to cut emissions by 15% below 1990 levels and by 20% by local councils may build sustainable houses or give away energy saving light bulbs Local interest groups: e.g ‘Manchester is my planet’.

Manchester is my planet Watch the videos and read the information from the textbook about how this scheme is reducing carbon emissions Since 2005, the programme’s inclusive, upbeat and positive message has brought together local authorities, universities, agencies, businesses and over 21,000 local people to help shape a low-carbon energy future for the city-region.
