What is employee relations program? company's efforts to manage relationships between employers and employees. This effort contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, and morale. part of a human resource strategy designed to ensure the most effective use of people to accomplish the organization's mission. Employee relation specialist The person who monitors various aspects of employee performance and well-being. Also often investigates and coordinates disciplinary actions, claims of discrimination or harassment, and sometimes labor disputes. In small organizations, the employee relations specialist may perform these and a number of other functions, but in a large corporation or government entity, these duties are often performed by an entire department. He or she is typically part of the human resources department

Employee Induction and Orientation The foremost component of a good employee relations program hiring of suitable employees who are expected to uphold the corporate values, culture and ethos of the organization, and become an integral part of it. The company assists new employees in this process by providing them an open, flexible and friendly internal work environment where they can fit in easily.

Employee Training and Skill Up-Grade Programs Even if the company has hired qualified or experienced employees, they may need to be trained to match with the processes and methods of the organization. Skill upgrade programs may be introduced from time to time, depending on the changing needs and systems of the business. This is one of the dynamic components of an employee relations program which not only helps to improve performance but also the motivation levels of the employees.

Employee Feedback, Surveys and Questionnaires A crucial aspect of a healthy employer-employee relationship is a two-way communication process that enables the employees to have their say. A free and frank system of employee feedback can help the organization to understand things from the employee’s perspective. This component is critical to create a more democratic and attentive organization that values employee inputs and addresses their concerns proactively.

Elements of effective employee relations Trust and Honesty go hand-in-hand in any relationship, including those in the workplace the workplace will be unhealthy if there is no trust between manager-employee and between peers.

Communication Managers must clearly communicate the company's vision and strategies to employees employees must communicate any issues or difficulties in implementing measures to achieve the business's vision. A key to effective communication is to do it in a timely manner.

Equality employers and employees alike must view people of different ages, genders, nationalities and sexual orientations as equal company hiring should be done based on the merit of the applicant. Managers must also treat employees equally No preferential treatment by managers or employers.

Conflict Resolution what separates a successful business from one that is unsuccessful is how the management team deals with the conflict. An effective HR professional is need to be able to deal with conflicts before they spread and worsen.

Conclusion The success of any business organization depends to a great extent on the relationship between the employees and management. Employee loyalty, commitment and productivity play a key role in the organization’s growth in a competitive business environment. To achieve a strong and healthy relationships between the organization and the workforce, a comprehensive employee relations program should be in place.
