Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland: Middle School Lesson Plan Stephen Campbell & Hunter Giles

Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland

Rising Up The main topic is dealing with the issue of being prepared to adapt to whatever may come before you in your daily life.

Taking It On Regardless to which situation it may be, preteens are going to be confronted with situations where they will have to make mature decisions to cross each path they meet. We want them to see, from this novel, that it is important to take on assignments or life experiences by rising up to the occasion rather than running from a challenge. This pertains mainly to social life and its challenges rather than academics or self.

Why? Children, especially preteens, come across challenges every day. Some are faced with more extreme situations than others, but all need to be prepared for those, at the least mentally. We want to help the children’s development skills move along even faster than they do on their own so they can rise and complete different challenges in their lives.

Assignments Throughout the time of reading the novel, we will put together a collection of assignments that can mix together as well as complete separately. They will consist of reading in class, educational games/strategies, and discussion. After all assignments are completed, and in the right way, we will host a tea party where the kids can dress up as their favorite character from the novel and represent that character.
