Normal ModeDelay Mode

Normal Operation Unit shown above in the OFF position, ram up. ><

Normal Operation Key switched to the “ON” position. Ram Lock Switch engaged. ><

Normal Operation >< START button depressed – Door closed. Door Interlock Switch and Door Sensor Switch engage.

Normal Operation Start Relay on PCB activates and supplies 120 volts to Run and Start winding. Ram starts downwards. ><

Normal Operation >< Centrifugal switch N.C contact opens so start winding drops out and N.O. contact closes.

Normal Operation >< The Start relay disengages and the Upper Limit Switch closes and supplies 120 volts to RUN winding.

Normal Operation >< At the same time the upper limit switch activates, so does the upper limit directional switch which will allow the Up Start winding to engage when ready.

Normal Operation >< When the ram is all the way down, the Lower Limit Switch is closed, supplying neutral to the “UP” Start winding.

Normal Operation >< The Motor switches direction and begin to turn in the opposite direction, bringing the ram upwards

Normal Operation >< The Lower Limit Switch opens and removes the Neutral to the Start winding. The ram continues upwards.

Normal Operation >< When the ram gets to the top position, the Upper Limit Switch is activated. Power is interrupted to the Run Winding and the motor stops.

Normal Operation >< At the same time, the Upper Limit Directional switch is also activated and is ready for the next cycle. COMPACTION COMPLETE! Delay Mode

Delay Operation Unit shown above in the OFF position, ram up. ><

Delay Operation Key switched to the “ON” position. Ram Lock Switch engaged. ><

Delay Operation >< DELAY START button depressed – Door closed. Door Interlock Switch and Door Sensor Switch engage.

Delay Operation At the predetermined “Start” time, the Compact Mode and Start Relays on the PCB activate. 120 volts is supplied to Run and Start winding via the "C" terminal of the Upper Limit Switch. The ram starts downwards. ><

Delay Operation >< Centrifugal switch N.C contact opens so start winding drops out and N.O. contact closes.

Delay Operation >< The Start relay disengages and the Upper Limit Switch closes.

Delay Operation >< Line voltage from the Upper Limit Switch is now directed through the C and N.O contact (Now closed) in the Compact Mode Relay. Voltage is sent through the closed centrifugal switch contact to the motor run winding.

Delay Operation >< The Upper Limit Switch (Directional) is also switched to the N.C position. It will now be ready to engage the START UP winding when required

Delay Operation >< When the ram is all the way down, the Lower Limit Switch is closed, supplying neutral to the “Start UP” winding.

Delay Operation >< With Neutral applied to the “Start Up” winding, the motor is stopped, allowing the centrifugal switch contact which has been supplying line voltage to the Run winding. The motor stops and the ram is in the COMPACT Mode. This will stay like this for 2 hours.

Delay Operation >< At the end of the 2 hour delay, the Compact Mode Relay releases and engages the N.C contact. This allows line voltage to flow to the RUN and START UP windings via the Upper Limit Switch.

Delay Operation >< The Centrifugal Switch activates and the Lower Limit Switch opens which removes the Neutral to the START UP winding. The ram continues upwards.

Delay Operation >< When the ram gets to the top position, the Upper Limit Switch is activated. Power is interrupted to the Run Winding and the motor stops.

Delay Operation >< At the same time, the Upper Limit Directional switch is also activated and is ready for the next cycle. COMPACTION COMPLETE! Normal Mode
