Sexual and Asexual reproduction

A type of reproduction that involves only one parent and produces offspring that are genetically identical to the parent.

Process in which two cells, termed gametes, come together to form one fertilized cell that contains genetic information from both parental cells.

SUMMARY Reproduction Asexual sexual A type of reproduction that involves only one parent and produces offspring that are genetically identical to the parent. In some plants and simple animals A type of reproduction that involves only one parent and produces offspring that are genetically identical to the parent. In some plants and simple animals The process in which two cells -- one from each of two parents— join. The resulting offspring inherits a random set of chromosomes from each parent, resulting in a unique individual. In both plants and animals The process in which two cells -- one from each of two parents— join. The resulting offspring inherits a random set of chromosomes from each parent, resulting in a unique individual. In both plants and animals
