Why the Act went into effect: Number of Scope of Practice Proposals Time spent by Legislators on Scope Issues Short CT Legislative Sessions compared to other States

Process: Request submitted by 8/15 of prior Legislative Session. General Assembly’s Public Health Committee notified within a month of initial request Rebuttals by impacted organizations accepted Within two weeks requestor MUST respond to DPH and anyone who submitted an impact statement. DPH Decision

Impact in Connecticut Allows Family Physicians to be part of the process Creates efficiency for Legislators on Scope issues by allowing health care professionals to research and make recommendations
