By Tami Adelhardt Illustrated by Art Clip, (assisted greatly by Tami & Lisa Bloodworth) Dedicated to Mary Ellen Bodeker who gave Max his name and said, “Tami, you know what you ought to do?”
This is Max. Max is a Mail Carrier.
Max brings the mail to our house.
US Max wears a special uniform. It is all blue. He wears blue pants, a blue shirt and a blue hat. He carries a big brown mail bag.
Max drives a big mail truck. It is white and has red and blue stripes
Max starts at the Post Office.
First the mail has to be weighed. (Do you know how much you weigh?)
Then Max fills his big mail bag with all the letters and packages.
He delivers the mail to all the houses on my street. Then he goes to the other streets in our neighborhood.
He puts the mail into the mail box at at each house.
Max walks all day. He works very hard and by the end of the day he is very tired.
But, Max says he loves bringing all the letters and packages to everyone. He likes to look at all the different kinds of stamps.
Today, Max brought a package to my house. It was from Grandma.
It was a play mail carrier suit. Now I can pretend to be a mail carrier, just like Max!
