Professionals  Photo of Cinematographer, Mirek Ondricek  Photo of Costume Designer: Doda Pistek  Dida’s character: rapid-fire wit and unusual sensibility.  Almost childlike, playfulness.  Doda relished the chance to show what he could do by the unlimited budgets.  He bought his fabrics in London and had his costumes sewn in Italy.  The costume looked absolutely splendid. Costume Photo Example. Mirek Ondricek Doda Pistek

The Cast  Forman’s good consideration for choosing the unknown actors to play the 2 important principals roles.  Forman’s Mozart played by Tom Hulce  His Saliere in F. Murray Abraham  His Constance, Mozart’s wife, originally in Meg Tilly, then changed to be Elizabeth Berridge.  His emperor in Jeffrey Jones. Tom HulceF. Murray Abraham

Enter Mozart  In the fall of 1982, edited Amadeus in Berkeley  Chose to cut or reedit  Stage photo of the performance of Peter Schaffer’s play Amadeus in the end of the first act when  Salieri is eager to have a look at these transcriptions of the volcanic stream of Mozart’s originals creativity work.  Crisis  The beginning of Act Two in the performance: Constanze accepts Salieri’s terms.  Due to Mozart’s great music, the film Amadeus changes this part. Salieri in the film of Amadeus (1984)

Genius Mozart’s Great Music  Director Forman was as overwhelmed by Mozart’s genius as Saliere was.  And once he felt the grand power of that music,  He didn’t need to see anything more because no sexual betrayal, no mundane humiliation could ever touch this greatness.  The music suddenly flattened the fine, titillating scene of high drama into a petty, anticlimactic redundancy.

8 Oscar-winners  Not a few music critics got violently upset  This film was clearly a historical fantasy, a dramatic construct, a meditation on possibilities past, a playful story.  Amadeus was and continues to be a money- maker.  Nominated for 11 Oscars, Amadeus won eight of them.  With Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abraham vying for the same prize in the Best Actor category.  List the 8 Oscar winners of this film.  Director Forman felt his biggest reward is:  “All over the world, entire audiences sat glued to their seats right through the 6 minutes of end titles, listening to Mozart’s divine music.” Milos Forman ‪ winning the Oscar® for Directing "Amadeus"
