Matt Garcia CCA Magnet School with unique requirements Up to 20 hours of training related to MGCCA and compensation for Professional Development outside of workday (Curriculum rate) Professional Development during workday Student Internships and utilization of time Potty Breaks! This Agreement sunsets on June 30, 2016 unless extended by mutual agreement between the parties.

Early College High School Right of return to Rodriguez High School Up to 35 hours of Professional Development, Collaborative Planning and Student Orientation OUTSIDE OF THE TEACHERS’ WORK YEAR (Contract language for PD and Collaboration; Per Diem pay for Student Orientation) Staff meetings at RHS Required travel reimbursed at IRS Rate Potty Breaks! This Agreement sunsets on June 30, 2016 unless extended by mutual agreement between the parties.

Hard to Fill Positions Allows District to pay a one-time hiring bonus fo $5000 for Speech Therapists and Nurses (positions identified by the District as Hard-to-Fill) Bonus prorated based on FTE (up to 1.0 FTE) Two equal payments (50% at signing and 50% after completion of one year of service) EXISTING UNIT MEMBERS who hold the appropriate credentials but who are not currently in those positions are also eligible for the bonus. Those hired into these positions may not transfer out of the position for three years without District approval. (Does not guarantee rehiring for new employees.)

Consulting Teachers Folds current understanding into body of contract (Articles 34.1, 34.2, and 34.3)

NCLB Early Childhood Education Credit State of California requires Transitional Kindergarten teachers to have Early Childhood Education credits Teachers will be reimbursed up to $500 for: University or College Coursework, Books, Study Guides, CSET Preparation Course, CSET Exams, Others as approved. Reimbursement upon proof of completion of coursework or exam. Requires prior approval from Human Resources Credit for movement on the salary schedule is not available if course/class is reimbursed. Limited by availability of funds.

Middle School Sports With the addition of K-8 configurations to the District menu, middle school sports are complicated by an elementary program with middle school age students. Increases all extracurricular coaching-related extended day salaries at 1.00 units shall move to 1.25 units. Appendix D shall add a K-8 Athletic Director position.

Workload Transitions With the expiration of “Workload Offset” MOU, new language is included to transition back to original contract in several areas. Adjunct duty goes from 16 hours/year to 14 hours/year. District offers Professional Development opportunities to unit members in District-supported grading system. Bargaining teams will investigate use of District online communication tools as well as other similar tools used by teachers by March 31, Elementary Progress Reports: no change. Elementary Conferences: no change.

Workload Transitions cont. Parent and Community participation activities are encouraged at all sites. District will continue to ensure minimal interruptions due to use of consultants on site. Central office bulletin boards: no change.

Initial Salary Schedule Placement New employees may enter up to Step 14/Column 6 (14 years prior experience and BA + 75 units or MA + 35 units). Unit members who began during school year or later, with verifiable years of service which were not credited upon hiring for salary placement, shall have their salary adjusted commensurate with their service credit for each respective impacted year. Adjustment shall not exceed 13 years maximum total service credit. Unit members shall receive payment for the variance. This affects only those unit members who are currently employed with the district and who will continue employment in

Collaborative Teaching Strategies Applies to TEAM TEACHING, REGROUPING, and CORE CLASSES (grades 5 – 8) Requires completion of a form that must be approved by HR and F-SUTA President Ensures that teachers are participating in these programs voluntarily. Ensures that such strategies are aligned with California Education Code

General Salary Changes The following changes are effective July 1, % applies to all Salary Schedules (Teachers, Permit Teachers, Adult School Hourly, Extended Day Activities, Department and Chairpersons) The following change is effective July 1, 2015 The District will assume the cost of providing release time that had been paid for out of F-SUTA Set Aside Funds. The remaining monies shall be disbursed to F-SUTA Unit Members as a 1.44% ONE-TIME BONUS.

Also retroactive to 7/1/2014 Curriculum Rate of Pay indexed to Step 4, Column 4 In Lieu/Intersession, Intervention/Saturday School/Summer School/ Home Teaching/Extended Day Activities/Department Chairperson Rates of Pay all indexed to Step 5, Column 5. Master’s Degree Stipend moves from $1157 to $1500 (increase of 29.6%) Doctorate Stipend moves from $1301 to $1700 (increase of 30.7%) Speech and Language Therapists: $3000 (50% increase)

Permit Teachers Change “Lane” to “Step” and “Step” to “Column”. Delete the old referenced “Lane 1” from the salary schedule so that “Lane 2” becomes the new “Lane 1”, etc. The new Step 1, Column 1 hourly rate would be $19.44 per hour. (Effective 7/1/2014)

Adult School Delete the current “Step 1” ($27.64 across the board) and move the remaining steps up. An actual adjustment of 9.17% to the new first step. Effective 7/1/2014.

Miscellaneous Money Items Retired Teacher Sub Pay = $180.25/day for ; Increase this to $195.00/day for Support Provider Stipend = $2000/teacher supported up to 3 teachers for $6000 (Effective 7/1/15) One additional Professional Development Day (a.k.a. Buyback): for add one additional professional development day related to Common Core at Per Diem Rate (Effective 7/1/15) CLASS SIZE OVERAGE: Tracked at $20/student/day for class size overage at all levels. (Effective 7/1/15) Health Insurance: Increase from $700 to $725 (Effective 7/1/2015)

Caseload: Workstations Trial period from 2 nd semester through The number of students enrolled in each class shall not exceed by more than five (5) three (3) the number of workstations in that class. This adjustment shall occur no more than twice per semester. The number of workstations in a class is exceeded if: a.The number of students exceeds the number of desks: or b.There is insufficient space or equipment to perform normal classroom activities.
